How long do you spend coding stuff?
Started by Alex 7-7-08 .

This question is entirely out of curiosity, guess it's not really a serious one.

But out of interest, how long do you spend coding websites/programmes/whatever? I know each project takes a different amount of time, so let's say how long on average would you spend programming?

When I tried my hand at websites, very small ones at that, i'd be sat at my PC for several hours each day!

I'm not sure but I invest more time in the basic idea, the planning , the sketching. once defined the project (or the update ...) it comes quick I've known people using messenger spend more time. sometimes I do.

I invested a lot of time on different parts of the projects, and coding takes quite a lot because in Angelworld most of the stuff is on PHP and database queries. I would say now 50% of the time is coding it, perfecting the codes and scripts.

30% on concepts and drafting, 20% is graphical work. That's for Angelworld 8 so far. Remember, I spent 6 months on that 30%, so you can calculate the total

Well over a year then, and the work has obviously paid off

great, but don't stop coding. Refine your creation!

hehe. For my failed site. I spent say 15% planning. 25% graphic work. 60% coding. lol. I now regret that i only spent 25% on graphic xD.

I don't think you should regret. At least, if any, you should regret that you haven't tried again!

xD. I got lazy then. And school started. No time x(.

So, you regret with a good reason, you can continue to regret until you start again!

Or quit school.

LOL, maybe quitting school for a website project isn't the best thing to do But in the holidays you can start again!
